This week was difficult but also full of beauty, as I was shown friendship in the truest form. I want to uplift these wonderful people who went out of their way to do something kind and show love for someone else. I found out that one of my Cystic Fibrosis medications will cost much more money per month after I turn 21 in April (like more than double my rent) and spent Wednesday afternoon calling pharmacies, family, and CF offices to try and come up with a plan and Wednesday night researching and going through documents. I couldn’t help but come to tears a few times over the outrageous price of these medications I need to take in order to stay healthy. I felt overwhelmed and confused by all of the insurance and medical jargon, as well as remembering all of the schoolwork I knew I needed to get done. My roommate Rachael + her fiancée Ryan prayed over me that afternoon and went to a wedding appointment. When they came back, they were holding these absolutely beautiful flowers.
I was brought to tears once again by their generosity and overwhelming love for the people around them. They exemplified friendship and love of neighbor (or in this case, roommate!) so powerfully. The world needs more of these people; individuals who care deeply for others and often go out of their way to show that love. This day, Rach & Ryan were the hands and feet of Christ. They showed up. They cared. And they improved the condition of someone’s day. God calls us to love others. This agape, this sacrificial, unending, and unconditional form of love is what we are called to. And that is something worth celebrating and acting on.
“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.”
― Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey
These two bless me so much and I cannot wait to see how they bless the world through their marriage. They brought joy to a difficult day. I am so thankful for their love, support, and beautiful friendship. 💕💐🌷
Rachael & Ryan, you guys are the bomb.

P.S. Thank you to my dad for helping me on Wednesday and both of my parents and stepmom for all of the support with each CF endeavor: I could never repay you for all the time, money, and love you have shown and given the last 3 years.
