10 Must-Do’s in Portland

Oh how I miss the wondrous city of  Portland. Bikes, donuts, amazing coffee…this place has it all. Here are my top 10 musts in Portland:

  1. Voodoo Donuts

039

If you love donuts as much as I do, you’ll be in Heaven here. Quirky donuts with fitting names, this is a must.

2. Washington Park

If you love outdoor adventure but don’t have much time to get out of the city, Washington Park is the perfect solution. With a memorial walkway, the Children’s Museum and the Oregon Zoo nearby, there’s lots to do in the area for family fun. And there are plenty of hiking trails through the fern-filled woods for you to enjoy. And the best part is everything is within Portland city limits.

3. Stumptown Coffee

521

Hands down some of the best coffee I’ve sipped. The low-key atmosphere is perfect. They have a few locations around town, so don’t worry about ever running out of that glorious caffeine.

4. Portland Art Museum

For all you artsy-folk, GO to the Portland Art Museum. They had really neat displays the day I went that were incredibly intriguing. Check it out!

5. Blue Star Donuts

518

Their slogan: “Donuts for Grown-Ups.” They win at life with all of their sophisticated flavors. Absolutely delicious.

6. Powell’s Books

7. Salt & Straw Ice Cream

1069

This place was so good I went there twice. Each month they have specialty themed flavors, so its constantly changing and being awesome.

8. Papa Haydn

1072

MACAROONS. Enough said.

9. Portland Kayak Company

1074

Here you can rent kayaks and other water vehicles for very cheap. I kayaked the Willamette for a few hours and it was one of the main highlights of my trip.

10. Canon Beach

1068

Haystack Rock is on Canon Beach– the perfect place to chill and watch the waves for awhile. Although this is outside of Portland, I’d highly recommend venturing out to see it. Beautiful sand and cute ocean vibe.

There are so many more places I’d love to add; Portland is truly wonderful and has my heart. Until next time, Portlandia!

  1. Hi there, Medora! It’s nice to “meet” you. I’ve added you to the CF Blogroll and can’t wait to peruse your blog some more! I’m SO sorry it’s taken me so long to add you – ironically enough it’s because guess what’ I’ve been busy doing this summer? …Moving to Portland. 😉 You’re on there now, though, and I love the look of your blog!
