Coffee Cart Redo

coffee cartHappy Sunday, friends!

Today I thought I’d share with you a project I’ve been working on for the last week. Yesterday I moved in to my new apartment in Moorhead that I’m sharing with three amazing roommates, who are all either currently baristas or have been at one point. So naturally, we all REALLY love coffee. Like really. It’s bad.

Anyway, I decided it would be neat to have some extra space in the apartment for all of our coffee machines, cups, French presses and bags of coffee. Most of the ones I found online or in local stores were just too much money (especially for a college student), so I gave up looking for a few weeks. Then out of nowhere I was in a thrift store one day and found this coffee cart for $14, pictured on the top left. You guys I almost cried, it was magical. And certainly needed some work.

First, I cleaned and sanded the entire cart. Then I put on a coat of primer. A few days later I painted two coats of white and let it cure for 24 hours before painting the handles gold and putting on a coat of sealer. I sanded in between each coat of paint, and I think that helped to give it a nice finish.

It took around 6 hours total, so not bad at all! And as you can see it is already being put to use 🙂 And it works with the apartment perfectly, so yay!

Thanks for letting me share, have a great week!
